Hi! I'm Amanda, the Operations Manager for the Experiment Foundation. I work with researchers who receive grants through the Foundation and the Science Angels that distribute those grants.
Before joining the Experiment Foundation team, I led the undergraduate research program in microbiology, immunology, and molecular genetics at UCLA, guiding students through original research projects and helping them discover the thrill of science. Before that I earned my PhD at UCLA in molecular and medical pharmacology, and did a lot of #scicomm work including founding a science magazine, developing scicomm training workshops, and creating the @iamscicomm twitter rocur account that eventually made it up to over 10,000 followers!
When I'm not at work you can find me producing festivals, making large-scale art, and spending time outside. Looking forward to learning about your science!
this is such an exciting project! I teach a lab course on phage biology and wow - how amazing it would be if we could quantify phage with microscopy. I hope the project is going well!
