Product Engineer

Help us create tools that move science forward

We are a crowdfunding platform for scientists, and we want to share the research process to make the world a better place. We are a small team, and our users have been featured in Nature, The Economist, Scientific American, and more. We believe that how scientists do research in 10 years will be vastly different than how it's funded, conducted, and shared today, and we want to help bring that change.

The Role

• Full-time engineering releasing early and often
• Ownership of complete features including architecture, testing, and release
• Work closely with our community & users to help them succeed
• Grow with us to help build the company you want to work for

About You

• You are comfortable with large Rails applications (full-stack)
• Your code has vision: writing maintainable code makes you happy, and you think about scale
• Strong communication skills in a fast-moving team
• Passionate about making an impact in science
• Hungry to learn
• You're entrepreneurial and not afraid to make bold decisions to help the company grow
• Have enough experience to know when to hack first, ask questions later
• Have shipped great products in the past

About Experiment
We were the kids who got in trouble in school chemistry class because we lit things on fire and liked to mix the things we weren't supposed to mix. We are eternally curious, and that is our engine of growth and learning.

Our office is currently based in New York City. Occasionally we do things like dig up dinosaurs and climb Redwood trees for our users.

Our Stack
We use a mix of rails, react, and postgres, deployed on heroku, and we're friendly with TDD and pair-programming.
