We hiked up Mount Lofty in April 2018, spotting a couple of koalas along the way. After that we walked down through the Mt. Lofty Botanical Garden and were taken to Australian friends' house nearby, which featured its own female koala in a tree in their garden. Saw many more koalas (as well as wallabies, kangaroos, possums and echidnas) on a tour of Kangaroo Island, but didn't know they were disease free. Good for them!
