
Bats, or mammals of the order Chiroptera, are the only mammals capable of true and sustained flight. Chiroptera also make up the second largest order of mammals, right after rodents. Some eat insects, some fruit, and a few species even eat fish or feed on blood.
This request for experiments is seeking proposals from all researchers studying bats. We're looking for proposals related to but not limited to the following topics are invited to apply: species evolution, anatomy and biomechanics, echolocation and senses, disease transmission, behavior, conservation, and bats in human culture.

Any project working on some aspect of bat research is invited to apply. Field work may take place anywhere in the world, but researchers must be based out of institutions or organizations in the US, UK, Australia, or Canada, or else receive permission from us to submit.
