Is there pollution/environmental damage in the waters of the Seychelles? Or are you monitoring and categorizing benign conditions? When I was in the Seychelles for my honeymoon in 2003, the ocean was pristine... Best of luck!

Hi Loren, Whilst its not the primary aim it is definitely a factor that we will be looking at. Based on previous expeditions worldwide and one conducted in Seychelles in 2019, we already know that plastic pollution is rife even in the deepest parts of our oceans, but being able to quantify that and further even understand their effects should be better documented. Our main aim for now is to understand these deeper environments that are not investigated (largely due to resources), for now. We know they are productive through anecdotal evidence from fishers... as you can imagine there's still lots of work to do to understand the why! I am so glad you were able to enjoy your time when in Seychelles! Come back and visit! Best Sheena
