Hi Adam, I think the procedure you're talking about would assist with getting higher yields of DNA in the extraction process. The PCR beads are a special concoction of ingredients used in the PCR phase, after extraction. So, macerating the samples could (in certain cases) improve the results at the PCR phase but is mostly unrelated to what the beads do.
