Hi Steve, Thanks for your question! The GlucoTrak is a product in development and approved in some countries for use (Not yet in the US). It looks as if it will be a good product, however, it is different from our early stage research in that we are testing a continuous system (not one-time measurements) that would take measurements from your wrist or somewhere from the body (not clipped on the ear as needed with the GlucoTrak). Currently, our technology does not require calibration or wait time, which differs from the GlucoTrak right now. I'm not sure of the exact type of EM sensing the GlucoTrak is using, but it is good to know they have had positive results. Additionally, I'm not sure which source of glucose they are measuring - many noninvasive systems in development measure interstitial or other glucose sources, then adjust it back to reflect blood glucose. This can be tricky because there is often a lag time and you can have issues with accuracy. It is difficult to compare a marketable product to an early stage research project, however, we are pursuing this research because of the advantages a continuous, non-lag based system provide for managing diabetes data. Additionally, our technology system is one that could be used as part of an artificial pancreas, which requires continuous, real-time measurements of blood glucose, not interstitial or other glucose sources. Hope this helps! Laura

Hi Rich! Unfortunately, I do not believe the contributions are tax-deductible at this point. However, I am checking with Experiment staff right now.
